Now that Barack Obama has been elected President of the United States, many are proclaiming that racism is no longer a reality or problem. In this presentation, author and political activist Ewuare X. Osayande lays out a critical analysis of how the system of white supremacy continues to wreak havoc on the lives and aspirations of Black people and other people of color in this country and around the world. Malcolm X once stated that “racism is like a Cadillac, they make a new model every year.” Osayande will address how this “new” model of white supremacy in the era of Obama must be confronted, exposed and resisted
.Ewuare X. Osayande is co-founder and director of POWER (People Organized Working to Eradicate Racism) and the author of more than fifteen books including Black Anti-Ballistic Missives: Resisting War/Resisting Racism.
Topics addressed include:
-The Racism of the Republican and Democratic Parties
-How and Why Obama Actually Won
-The Resurgence of White Supremacist Organizations
-Police Brutality and Repression
-Capitalism and the Legacy of Slavery

and the Economic Bail-Out
