Why don’t you go in my place?” Jay Warner did and Rick won.
1991 Chaka Khan and Ray Charles won best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal at the thirty-third annual Grammy Awards. The song was “I’ll Be Good To You,” and it was Charles’ eleventh Grammy. Luther Vandross earned best R&B Vocal Performance, Male honors.
1992 Jodeci peaked at #18 pop and #1 R&B with their debut album, Forever My Lady. All three of the doo-wop/R&B/new jack swing group’s albums would reach #1 R&B over the next four years.
1999 Lenny Kravitzs “Fly Away” reached #1 in England thanks to its placement in a Peugeot car commercial that ran extensively throughout the British Isles.
