OP RESIDENTS RECEIVE HATEFUL FLYER

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — New tenants at an Overland Park apartment complex said they received an unwelcoming, threatening flier.
The couple said they moved into the apartment complex near West 124th Street and Antioch Road in June and had not had any problems.
But when they moved to a bigger apartment two weeks ago, they found a flier with a picture of a Ku Klux Klan member on it. It said, “Leave Or Die” and included racial and sexual slurs.
The African-American couple, who said they are gay and in a committed relationship, said they didn’t feel safe at Whispering Hills anymore.
Overland Park police are investigating, but said they don’t have many leads.
