Okay, Day 4, and I am waiting for Sen. John McCain to come on tonight. While I am waiting for McCain to make his acceptance speech, I have compiled some questions I would like to have answered by him in his speech. But, while suffering through the filibustering speakers who will come on before him, I have braced myself for more of the same torment that I have heard ad infinitum, before the night is over.
Here’s a roster of the nauseating omens to come:
-“Drill, drill, drill. . . . .drill!
Did I forget to say POW?
-Maverick (McCain). Maverick (Palin)
The definition of a maverick:
“an independent individual who does not go along with a group or party.”
Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 10TH Edition, 1997.
For McCain to be a real maverick is to challenge, publicly, his own ReThuglican Party on just how reformed they, and he, are. He can’t really call his own party out on the carpet to really advocate changes that will benefit all Americans )Black, white, non-black, poor whites, etc.), not unless he is really ready to put his money where his mouth is.
For McCain to really challenge the myopia and condescension of his party, for McCain to seek a major revamping of his party, would be to clean house….to literally, “Throw the bums out!”. But, for McCain to do such a thing would be anathema to the ReThuglicans. . . .because they are the bums!
That is what a maverick does. A maverick listens to the right and forward thing to do, not the same ol’, same ol’.
And so far McCain, you are no maverick.
Tonight will be more of the same stomach-turning dog-chasing-its-tail syndrome from the ReThuglicans.
Not to mention quite a few terms we have not heard yet from McCain, Palin or the:
And McCain, since you are such a maverick, what do you plan on doing for the middle-class, the poor, the families of veterans? How do you propose to solve the health care crisis?
Do you even plan on addressing abortion, a very key issue in your fight to garner many women voters support?
Will you address your stance on gay marriage in your acceptance speech? Will you acknowledge racial profiling, the (in)justice system that incarcerates blacks in alarmingly higher numbers than whites (even for the same crime committed)? Will you address the failing mortgage industry, where working-class people who struggled to buy a home, only to lose it due to avaricious money lenders who knocked the housing market to its knees with predatory lending practices?
Will you address the selling out of America and jobs overseas, jobs that could have raised some families up out of poverty? Do you even have a single new idea about how to make the health care system work, how to get our economy moving for the middle-class, a single idea on how to improve education?
Dollars-to-donuts, you do not.
But, hey, I am all ears. I am willing to listen to what you have to say—as long as it not more of the same empty vacuous drivel the ReThuglicans have become synonymous with.
Will you address the economy and its horrific stagnation?
Will you even mention your Grand Poobah leader tonight? You know.. . .President Shrub? The one you run like hell from in your desire to disassociate yourself from him? How will you distance—and distinguish yourself from him, in your policies?
How will you be a better more improved President in comparison to Shrub?
Will you go after Obama as if that is all what a campaign is about? Never mind what Obama is, or is not doing——concentrate on what you have to do to get your point across on your positions on various issues.
Or will you keep with the desperate personal attacks, the cheap shot of attacking your opponent, thinking that such behaviour scores points with you in the eyes of the voters?
It does not. It cheapens a person, and you have cheapened yourself enough with your lack of maverick behaviour.
If I hear POW; drill; Iran; terrorists; country; torture; POW; Vietnam; honor; patriotism; the flag; America; Armed Forces/Armed Services; no higher taxes/no more taxes/repeal of the 26TH Amendment; Keep America safe/Keep America strong/Keep America blind to the Truth; country first; the ; the threat of terrorism; 9/11; country first; POW——-one more time, I will throw a 10″ Ginsu at the television!
So, Sen. McCain, are you going to fear monger/scare-tactic voters (the gullible ones that is) into voting for you the way your boy Dubya did? You actually are hoping that there are still people in this country still dumb enough to vote against their best interests.
You say you are such a maverick, McCain.
I say you are not.
You have bamboozled. You have hoodwinked. You have sold the American people a cheap bill of goods that is a rotten, putrid mess.
Tonight, Sen. McCain, I want to see a real man who really speaks the truth, no matter what the cost—a man who truly is loyal to the best interests for all Americans—–instead of what you can in the end, only do for your rapacious ReThuglican Party.
Oh, and uh by the way…..
no more damn, “USA! USA!”
No more POW!
Okay, McCain is getting ready to come on.
Let’s see what kind of a man he measures up to be in his speech.
Trite. Melodramatic. Maudlin. Lame.
Is that the best you can do, McCain?
Obviously it is.
Okay, let’s deconstruct your speech, and see where you are really headed. Here is a link for those of you who wish to read McCain’s speech in its entirety:
“But let there be no doubt, my friends, we’re going to win this election. And after we’ve won, we’re going to reach out our hand to any willing patriot, make this government start working for you again, and get this country back on the road to prosperity and peace.”
Anyone willing to be a patriot. So, anyone who does not agree with you or the ReThuglicans is not a patriotic American? No, they are just some subversive un-American monster. Patriotism is more than someone who agrees with everything you state, McCain. A true patriot warns this country of the destructive path it has turned on; a true patriot stands against any and all evil that seeks to destroy this country; a true patriot tells this country the truth about itself.
“For the government to start working for you again, and get this country back on the road of prosperity and peace.”
Like hell. ReThuglicans have nearly annihilated this country, and have put everyone in this country in harm’s way with their anti-American policies. Too much damage has been done by ReThuglicans, and now you want Americans to trust you and your kind?As if all of a sudden you and your kind have developed humanity for all people in this country?
Peddle those lies somewhere else. Yeah, you ReThuglicans really care for the economic welfare of the American citizen:
Guess you expect millions of Americans to forget where you and your kind stood on the above important legislation, eh?
And your love for all of your fellow Americans is so heartwarming:
“And when we tell you we’re going to change Washington, and stop leaving our country’s problems for some unluckier generation to fix, you can count on it. We’ve got a record of doing just that, and the strength, experience, judgment and backbone to keep our word to you.”
But, that’s just it, McCain. Your ReThuglican Party has left problems behind for some unluckier generation to fix. Just who the hell do you think created the spiraling deficit, the hatred of the world against America, the inhumanity and ineptness of “No Child Left Behind”, the cuts and gutting of programs that would help down-on-their-luck Americans. And your ReThugs expect those who come after you to clean up the damaging messes that your party has created.
I do not trust you to keep your word, McCain. I trust you to be just another greedy, decadent ReThuglican just like all the rest.
“I’ve fought corruption, and it didn’t matter if the culprits were Democrats or Republicans. They violated their public trust, and had to be held accountable.”
Just like you fought against the corrupt needs of children’s health care:
“Bush Vetoes Children’s Health care Bill”: http://www.democrats.org/a/2007/10/bush_vetoes_chi.php
And your response to President Shrub’s veto:
“McCain: Bush Right To Veto Kids Health Insurance Expansion”: http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/03/mccain.interview
“I’ve fought lobbyists who stole from Indian tribes.”
Really? Remember the Indian Health Care Improvement Act, Senate Bill S. 1200? Remember what your buddy, President Shrub, threatened to do:
And you remember your vote in the Senate on S. Bill 1200:
Yeah. You fought lobbyists who stole from Indian tribes. So, you forgot how you stole much needed health care from Indian tribes.
Bad memory, huh?
You fought hard against the lobbyists, and for the little person, eh? Remember your vote on hate crimes legislation:
Just like you fought so hard for the victims of Katrina? Just like you stood firm with your pastor John Hagee who hatefully attacked the victims of Katrina and you limply cowered from admonishing him: http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/dnc-which-hagee-positions-does-john-mccain-endorse,298402.shtml
Fought so hard for the city of New Orleans? You are like so many damned politicians—you have your picks, your favourite groups you will speak up for, and the rest be damned.
But, I forgot, the people devastated by Katrina they were just. . .what. . .animals, so why give a damn about them?
Why give a damn about the millions of black people in this country that your so-called “Party of Lincoln” have turned their backs on time, after time?
Should I look forward to more photo-ops with you and the people of New Orleans?More hypocritical bullshit from you a man who gives not a damn about your fellow black citizens?
I’ll answer that question for you:
“You do not give a flying fuck about black people. You would use black people up and throw them into the garbage can, just like all the other political blood-sucking leeches, so spare me the crap about speaking up for and fighting for all Americans.”
And here, your position on nuclear energy, especially in reference to Yucca Mountain, Nevada: http://mediamatters.org/items/200805290005?f=h_latest
Quite the flip-flopper, eh?
“I fought for the right strategy and more troops in Iraq, when it wasn’t a popular thing to do. And when the pundits said my campaign was finished, I said I’d rather lose an election than see my country lose a war.”
More troops in Iraq? More lives lost for a demented lost cause that was never right in the first damn place. Not to mention that you would rather have this country stay
tangled in Iraq for 100 years, so scared are you of America facing defeat in Iraq.
Face facts man, America is facing defeat in Iraq. America had no damn business in Iraq—-I know it, you know it. Not wanting to face up to the stupidity of invading a country just to prove an asinine point of cowboy mentality (President Shrub), has endangered the lives of millions of Americans, so your position of support on the Iraq war makes you look like a loser, not a winner.
You are so gungho on holding on to the, “WE must stay the course in Iraq”, your being so fearful of admitting that America was wrong to commit hostile murderous actions against Iraq, all for a few drops of some freaking’ oil, your refusal to admit that America is a vicious force in the lives of people abroad, and in towards her own citizens, shows that you refuse to take off the blinders of the hypocrisy of attacking a country like Iraq in the first place.
America had no damn right to be in Iraq. She still has no damn right to be in Iraq, no matter how many excuses you come up with to cover up the illegality of the Iraq War.
“I fight to restore the pride and principles of our party. We were elected to change Washington, and we let Washington change us. We lost the trust of the American people when some Republicans gave in to the temptations of corruption. We lost their trust when rather than reform government, both parties made it bigger. We lost their trust when instead of freeing ourselves from a dangerous dependence on foreign oil, both parties and Senator Obama passed another corporate welfare bill for oil companies. We lost their trust, when we valued our power over our principles.”
You, and your ReThuglicans, will never restore the trust in American citizens that you so eagerly destroyed. Your selfish, decadent hubris has brought you and your party low, and you are grasping for whatever way to try and restore the citizenry’s faith in you.
You do not have the faith, nor the trust of so many Americans. You and your party squandered that and you have no one to blame but yourselves. Yeah, you lost millions of people’s trust when you and your party valued power over principles.
Your party no longer has principles.
You, and your party, will be forever be trying to regain the trust and faith of millions of Americans, and they should not allow you into the White House to further destroy our lives.
“Education is the civil rights issue of this century.”
Finally, something we can both agree on.
“Equal access to public education has been gained. But what is the value of access to a failing school? We need to shake up failed school bureaucracies with competition, empower parents with choice, remove barriers to qualified instructors, attract and reward good teachers, and help bad teachers find another line of work.
“When a public school fails to meet its obligations to students, parents deserve a choice in the education of their children. And I intend to give it to them. Some may choose a better public school. Some may choose a private one. Many will choose a charter school. But they will have that choice and their children will have that opportunity.”
“Choose public schools”. “Choose private schools.” “Choose charter schools.”
Why the hell not choose to create a Marshall Plan for all schools in America? Why the hell present a bind where a poor parent has to go across town to an AP/Magnet school to educate their child, when schools located in urban neighborhoods should have teachers and curriculum that highly educates the students living in that neighborhood? Why continue to believe in the bussing mentality?
Is it too much to ask that schools in Black and other neighborhoods should have the best there is for the children in their neighborhoods? Is it too much to ask that schools in Black/Latino should have better college preparatory curriculum that strengthens their educational foundation?
I guess so, in your mind.
No, it would be too much to ask that all schools in all neighborhoods are brought up to par on a level that educates all students as well as prepare them for a global world.
“We will increase the use of wind, tide, solar and natural gas. We will encourage the development and use of flex fuel, hybrid and electric automobiles.”
Shocking! I did not expect that moment of reason from you. I guess you took a page out of Palin’s book, and decided to throw in a few comments about alternative energy.
“Enlist in our Armed Forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed. Our country will be the better, and you will be the happier. Because nothing brings greater happiness in life than to serve a cause greater than yourself.”
Now, you have the temerity to speak of volunteer work, a fact of life for millions of Americans, after your party has disparaged anything that is not military-related.
Millions of Americans already are volunteering and doing much selfless work, but, you and your party continue to insult and demean the many efforts that Americans from all walks of life contribute to make this country great.
Who lied to you and told you that ReThuglicans have a monopoly on loyalty to this country?Who lied to you and told you that ReThuglicans have a lock hold on family values? Who lied to you and told you that Rethuglicans are more devoted to this country than anyone else?
You and your loathsome ilk are reprehensible and monstrous. That your party has nearly torn this country to pieces is unfathomable and you continue not to want to face that fact.
You know something, McCain, for you to constantly beat over the heads, many citizens who have never been in the military, nor served overseas in a foreign war, is an insult to the many Americans who proudly support our troops both in America, and stationed around the world.
Your contempt for non-service civilians is abominable.
That you bludgeon everyone with the POW experiences of yours as if anyone who is not a veteran is less than human is sordid.
A little thing for you, Sen. McCain:
A person does not need to enlist in the military to serve their country honorably.
A person does not need to put on a uniform to have pride, integrity and honor.
A person does not need to join up in any branch of the military to be patriotic, and your hateful jibes at Sen. Obama’s patriotism, as if it is less than yours, as if only people who look like you can be patriotic is sick and mean.
You want to know what real patriotism is, Sen. McCain?
Real patriotism is getting up in the morning and facing white supremacy and white racist hatred during segregation, all the while, your tax dollars pay for municipal amenities that you are denied because of your race.
Real patriotism is putting on a uniform whether as a Marine, Army, Navy or Air Force man or woman, knowing that when you return to your hometown, you will still be faced with Jim Crow cruelties that sought to cut down your humanity.
You don’t know a damn thing about patriotism. You think it is all about the uniform. You think it all about the branch you served in. You think it all about your POW status.
Patriotism is the love and loyal support of your country through the malicious times, and through the good times, something that many, many black men and women in the military history of this country have exemplified in their proud service.
In your hateful diatribes against Obama, it is not his patriotism you are questioning. . . .
. . . .it is the patriotism of black Americans that you are questioning.
Black Americans have been more patriotic towards this country than many whites who have sought to destroy it with white supremacy.
Black Americans have stood by this country and loved it all the while it hated them.
Many of them unlike you, Sen. McCain, did not utter or live by this following comment;
“I fell in love with my country when I was a prisoner in someone else’s.’
Black Americans loved this country even when it was lynching us. Black Americans loved this country even when it was burning us alive at the stake. Black people loved this country even when it was Jim Crowing us to a slow death. Black Americans loved this country knowing that it never wanted to see us prevail and prosper. Black Americans who faced the barbaric brutality of torture—–skinn peeled from their bodies, while still alive; fingers, toes, ears, noses hacked off during sadistic lynching rituals of blood; castrations of defenseless black men and boys; breasts cut off of defenseless black women. Yes, black people know only too well the history of brutish torture against us by those who proclaimed themselves the most civilized in this country.
Millions of black people, unlike you, did not wake up one day and decide to start loving America.
Because black Americans loved this country so much, they were willing to put their lives on the line to save it from its racist hatred and hypocritical stomping on the Constitution.
So, you can just shove your ersatz patriotism down your throat, and pull it out your asshole, Sen. McCain.
Learn that patriotism often involves telling your country the truth about itself and being strong enough to face the consequences from those who vehemently hate the truth.
You call yourself a maverick.
You are not a maverick. You are nothing more than a coward. A true maverick stands alone against his own kind (ReThuglicans) for all Americans, and you have not in any way been a bonafide maverick.
You actually believe this country wants more of the sick, perverted and depraved shit that ReThuglicans have dished out to all Americans.
You and your kind are dinosaurs. Relics from a time of greed, selfishness and mendacity.
You and your kind need to pack your bags, leave and never show your faces again to hurt, pummel, and beat American citizens down anymore into the dust.
As for the following:
“Fight for what’s right for our country.
Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.
Fight for our children’s future.
Fight for justice and opportunity for all.
Stand up to defend our country from its enemies.
Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.
Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight.”
Yes, Americans do need to fight for what is best for this country.
The way they can all do that is to not squander a precious vote on you. No more lies. The final solution is to keep you out of the Oval Office.
Standing up to you and not falling for your filth of lies will be the greatest change that all Americans can do on November 4, 2008.
