I can’t believe it but June 7, is the 50TH birthday of Prince Rogers Nelson, known to his legion of fans as Prince.

Known for many years as Prince, he did a name change on August 18, 1992, becoming known as “The Artist Formerly Known As Prince”, occasionally abbreviated as “TAFKAP”.
An originally unpronounceable symbol, 
a combination of the symbols for the planets Venus and Mars, (later dubbed “Love Symbol #2″ for copyrighting) was used by Prince as the title of an album and for a time, as his stage name. On May 16, 2000, Prince again went back to using his well-known name of “Prince”.
Hard to believe, but, His Royal Purpleness has hit the big 5-0. But, he does not look a day over. . . .30

Wow, I had no idea that Prince was that old!! But I guess it makes sense. I wasn’t allowed to listen to his music as a kid, but I snuck a copy of the song “Purple Rain” into my bedroom and played it constantly.
I also had a pair of royal blue paisley jeans and NOBODY could tell me that I wasn’t part of his entourage when I wore them! LOL

To everyone:
I have been searching the web for as many of Prince’s videos that I can find (my favorite which I just put a link to is “1999″. Yes, the song is about death and destruction and the nuclear bomb, but, what the hey, it certainly has a bad beat. The video is not bad either.) I found a wealth of videos on the MTV website
Check back from time to time, as I will post more videos of His Royal Purpleness.
On another note, the reason why I have to search out Prince videos, and link them on my site when I do find them, is because he has a copyright suit going on against YouTube, so if you would search youtube for any video of Prince, you will not find it. So far, the sights I link to have not been served papers by His Royal Badness. . . .at least not yet.
